UPDATE

You have supported us so much in NZ that we've crossed the ditch and made NZ our home! Yep: velo city is now Kiwi based and we're loving it. Thanks for making us so welcome - we're looking forward to producing more lines with that fresh style that makes NZ such a beautiful place to live.

History

When two avid cyclists met with some fashion designers, the discussion naturally moved to the clothes that cyclists wear. Like most non-cyclists, the designers associated road cycling with Lycra and not much else.

“What is there to wear after you have ridden your bike?” (Not much at all.)

“Do you guys know how bad you look in Lycra?” (Yeah – fabulous, isn’t it?)

“How do cyclists express their obvious obsession with their sport?” (By talking incessantly about it to anyone who will listen – especially in July.)

“Are you guys as tragic as it appears?” (Yes.)

The discussion and mocking continued - Why are people so unkind? So, too, did the red wine... and velo city was created.

Designed with cyclists and cool-hunters in mind, velo city captures the essence of contemporary road cycling by using graphics and styling evocative of the sub-culture we are so proudly a part of.  Our styles have been designed with comfort and quality in mind and are ideal for evenings at home, weekends in the cafe or at work on “casual Friday.”

We are proud to present our range to you and are confident you will find at least one item that will become your favourite t-shirt.

Our new range is being worked on and we have some great styles in development for you to wear when the arm-warmers are being donned.
